Integrity\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the occasion of celebrating 50 years of leadership and contribution in water resources management, the National Water Research Center (NWRC) organized the opening session of a workshop titled:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Sustainable Future for Egypt&#8217;s Coasts: Aligning Investment, Development, and Environmental Integrity.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop aimed to enhance coordination between coastal development plans and environmental preservation, with active participation from government agencies, the private sector, academia, civil society, and decision-makers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first session focused on discussing the impacts of climate change on Egypt&#8217;s coasts, especially the Red Sea coasts, which are increasingly at risk due to rising sea levels and extreme weather events, posing threats to coastal infrastructure and coral reef ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session featured several key technical presentations, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Effects of Rising Sea Levels and Extreme Weather Events on Coastal Regions<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Vulnerability Assessment of the Egyptian Red Sea Coastal Zone to Climate Change<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Climate Change Impacts on Coastal Infrastructure<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This event reflects NWRC\u2019s ongoing commitment to providing
