Prof. Dr. Hani Sewilam \u2013 Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation \u2013 in the celebration of 50 years of the Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme, organized by UNESCO at its headquarters in Paris, Prof. Dr. Sherif Mohamady \u2013 President of the National Water Research Center (NWRC) \u2013 took part in the event, proudly representing Egypt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During one of the sessions organized by the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation as part of the celebration program, Prof. Dr. Sherif Mohamady delivered a presentation highlighting Egypt\u2019s proposal to establish a UNESCO Chair, aiming to enhance cooperation in the management of transboundary water resources through a shared, forward-looking, and inclusive vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He explained that the Chair\u2019s vision integrates multiple disciplines, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hydrology<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Environmental sciences<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>International water law<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Political &amp; social sciences<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This multidisciplinary approach ensures a sustainable and integrated water governance model, focusing on both blue water and green water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Mohamady also emphasized a unique feature of the proposal: the focus on inclusive water governance, with a participatory approach that involves:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Local communities Youth, Decision-makers, Women empowerment, targeting at least 60% female participation in training programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his concluding remarks, Prof. Mohamady outlined the Chair\u2019s key activities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Education &amp;
