In line with the National Water Research Center\u2019s (NWRC) commitment to enhancing opportunities for external funding of research projects\u2014especially from international donors\u2014Prof. Dr. Sherif Mohamady, President of the NWRC, held a virtual meeting on, Sunday, June 22, 2025, via Zoom to follow up on the development of an international research proposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting was attended by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Dr. Ayman El-Saady \u2013 Vice President of the NWRC for Research Planning Affairs<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Mohamed Embaby \u2013 Director of the Water Resources and Irrigation Systems Research Institute<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Mohamed Sherif El-Touny \u2013 Head of the Water Requirements Department at the Institute<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Reham Farouk \u2013 from the President\u2019s Technical Office<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discussion focused on the research proposal titled:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGood Water Management Practices for Sustainable Wheat Production\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project is expected to be funded by the Korea-Africa Economic Cooperation Fund (KOAFEC) and aims to support Egypt\u2019s efforts toward achieving food security through enhanced water use efficiency in wheat cultivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Mohamed Sherif El-Touny delivered a detailed presentation, highlighting the anticipated benefits of the project and its practical applications for sustainable water management\u2014in preparation for submission to H.E. the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Should the project receive funding approval, it will be implemented in cooperation with several entities under the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, along with research institutions from other ministries\u2014ensuring a unified national effort toward the success of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
