As part of the ongoing follow-up of research activities and efforts to strengthen institutional coordination, Prof. Dr. Sherif Mohamady \u2013 President of the National Water Research Center (NWRC) \u2013 held a meeting on, Sunday, June 22, 2025, with Prof. Dr. Samy Saad \u2013 Director of the Hydraulics Research Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Dr. El-Sayed Dewidar \u2013 Deputy Director of the Institute \ud83e\uddea<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eng. Ahmed El-Dabaa \u2013 Secretary-General of the Institute<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Islam Sabry \u2013 Director of the President\u2019s Technical Office<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Abdel Hamid Khater \u2013 from the President\u2019s Technical Office<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting reviewed key research activities and studies carried out by the Institute over the past two years (2023\/2024 and 2024\/2025), whether within the framework of the national research plan or in response to ministerial assignments. Discussions also included consultancy services, externally funded projects, and capacity-building programs implemented through the Institute\u2019s Regional Training Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Achievements by researchers were also highlighted, particularly in terms of international participation and scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting further addressed the current challenges facing the Institute and discussed potential solutions, with an emphasis on enhancing collaboration with various sectors of the Ministry and other research institutes under the NWRC umbrella. This would ensure greater impact from research outputs and institutional synergies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The session also included a presentation of the Institute\u2019s contributions to several national projects, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A study on rehabilitating the irrigation and drainage system to achieve hydrological and ecological restoration in Siwa Oasis<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A study on the design of pumping stations and pipelines within the “Future of Egypt” project<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This meeting is part of a series of regular sessions held by the NWRC President with the directors of research institutes, reaffirming the NWRC\u2019s commitment to closely monitoring all aspects of technical, research, and administrative performance.
