Prof. Dr. Hani Sewilam, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, welcomed Mr. Peter Mollema, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Cairo, to discuss the status of a number of areas of joint cooperation and ways to enhance this cooperation in the field of water resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Highlights:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Continuing the implementation of the &#8220;Modernizing Irrigation Technologies to Improve the Livelihoods of Small Farmers in Upper Egypt&#8221; project activities according to the set schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Coordination between the Ministry, FAO, and the Dutch side to ensure the completion of all project activities within the remaining project period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Preparing a MoU between the Ministry and the Dutch organization \u201cInvest International\u201d to study the feasibility of shore protection using &#8220;environmentally friendly sand fertilization&#8221; techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Prof. Sewilam: \u201cThe importance of this study lies in the trend toward using environmentally friendly natural methods to protect Egyptian shores.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;>&#8211; Preparing for several events within the &#8220;8th Cairo Water Week&#8221; to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the beginning of Egyptian-Dutch cooperation in the water sector. &#8211; Discussing the renewal of the MoU between the two countries, which includes cooperation in the fields of water management, coastal zone management, and mitigating the effects of climate change.<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-group
