As part of the National Water Research Center’s commitment to strengthening scientific and research cooperation with international institutions, Professor Dr. Sherif Mohammadi, President of the National Water Research Center, held a meeting on Monday, August 3, 2026, with Dr. Hadeel Mahmoud Hosny, Senior Researcher and Lecturer at IHE Delft, in the presence of Professor Dr. El-Sayed El-Bastamy El-Sayed from the Center’s Technical Office.
The meeting focused on ways to support and enhance cooperation between the two parties and expand areas of joint work on topics related to water resources management and the reuse of treated wastewater. This collaboration aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise and maximize the utilization of scientific and applied knowledge from both sides.
The meeting also addressed the research project being conducted by the Center, represented by the Drainage Research Institute and the Central Laboratories for Environmental Monitoring, in cooperation with IHE Delft in Fayoum Governorate. This project, part of the SafeAgroMENA initiative, aims to develop and implement innovative and sustainable solutions to improve the quality of treated wastewater and enhance its safe and efficient reuse in agricultural activities, thereby supporting the efficient use of water resources and achieving their optimal utilization. At the conclusion of the meeting, Professor Dr. Sherif Mohammadi commended the ongoing collaboration with the IHE Delft Institute, emphasizing the importance of supporting international research partnerships and linking scientific research outputs to practical applications that serve the water sector. He also expressed his appreciation to Dr. Hadeel Mahmoud Hosny and the center’s team for their support and cooperation in conducting the study and research experiments at the center, looking forward to further joint collaboration in the future.
