NWRC has organized a late technical session entitled “TS19 Research and Innovation in Water Resources†on Tuesday 22 October 2019 during the Cairo Water Week at the Volga River Hall - Al-Manara International Conference Center. The session was chaired by: Prof. Hussam Fahmy, and co-chaired by: Prof. Salwa Abo El Ela. The session presented innovated solutions to produce biogas from the aquatic weeds and water hyacinth in an efficient technique which was successfully implemented in Egypt and Uganda. Correspondingly, innovates to improve the efficiency and functionality of regulators on the water streams were presented. An innovative application using Internet of Things (IoT) to water collect samples for water quality monitoring in Egypt were also presented. The presentations were: ‘Soil bio-grouting using innovative bacteria from Egypt (smart soil), by Dr. Safaa Ezaat, CLEQMâ€, ‘Converting Water Weeds to Bio-gas and Fertilizer, by Prof. Salwa Aboul Ela, CMRIâ€, IoT based low cost and low power early warning and water quality monitoring system, by Dr. Noha Kamal, NRI, and Economic water gate materials from sand and fiber glass, by Prof. Yasser El Hakem, CRIâ€.
