On Saturday 9th May 2020, the President of the National Water Research Center (NWRC) has welcomed H.E. Prime Minister, Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, who visited the NWRC’s campus in the Delta Barrage alongside with his visit to a number of projects in Qalubiya Governorate. During his tour, the Ministers of Water Resources and Irrigation, local development, housing, and transport and the Governor of the Qalubiya governorate accompanied H.E. Dr. Madbouli during his visit. In addition, a number of high-level professionals and institutes’ directors of the NWRC have joined him during the visit. The NWRC’s President gave a brief on the research activities undertaken by the NWRC institutes. On the other hand, the director of the Hydraulic Research Institute (HRI) explained the work on the physical model of the New Dairout Barrage built at the institute facility. At the end of the tour, the Prime Minister met with a group of trainees from the Nile Basin countries. These trainees had their training at the HRI last month for a training course entitled: “the 40th Training Course on “Hydrological Environment of Arid and Semi-Arid Areas”. They, unfortunately, were not able to travel to their countries due to COVID-19 crisis after the end of their training program. The Prime Minister welcomed them, stressing that they are in their second home country, and that all services will be provided to them until the crisis ends.
