Policy Frameworks for Water Management, Desalination, and WFE Nexus Integration

The session is designed to demonstrate how to develop and enhance integrated policies for effective management across several critical sectors, including water resources, agriculture, desalination, and the water-food-energy-environment (WFEEN) approach. The core focus will be on mainstreaming the WFE approach within water resources management policies and strategically integrating desalination projects into this broader framework. A key goal is to promote desalination in water-scarce regions by developing robust policy frameworks and incentives. Furthermore, the session will explore the feasibility of using desalinated water for agricultural purposes and highlight recent technological advancements in desalination technologies.
