NWRC Library
The Central Library of the National Water Research Center (NWRC) is a vital knowledge resource dedicated to supporting scientific research, innovation, and policy development in the field of water resources. Since its inception, the library has played a central role in collecting, preserving, and disseminating both local and international publications across a wide range of disciplines related to water science—including environmental studies, hydraulic and hydrologic engineering, climate change, agricultural drainage, remote sensing, computer modeling, and applied mechanics.
Strategically located on the first floor of the NWRC headquarters within the NWRC Campus at Delta Barrage, El-Qanater El-Khayreya, and overlooking the Nile River, the library offers a quiet and well-equipped environment for researchers, scholars, and policymakers. It also houses a modern conference and meeting hall designed for seminars, workshops, and collaborative discussions.
The library maintains an extensive collection of books, journals, technical reports, theses, and digital resources. In recent years, it has expanded its digital infrastructure to provide online access to a wide array of scientific databases, e-journals, and research tools, enabling remote access for affiliated researchers and institutions.
The general administration of the Central Library is structured into three specialized sub-departments:
Technical Services Department – Responsible for cataloging, classification, acquisition, and maintenance of library materials.
Information Technology Management Office – Oversees the library’s digital systems, databases, and e-library services.
Reader Services Department – Provides assistance to researchers, manages lending services, and facilitates access to both physical and electronic resources.
By fostering a knowledge-rich environment and integrating modern information technologies, the NWRC Central Library continues to be a cornerstone of Egypt’s scientific advancement in the water sector.
