The National Water Research Center (NWRC) participated with remarkable distinction in a technical session held at the Egypt International Exhibitions Center as part of the WATREX EXPO 2025. The center presented talks addressing the latest sustainable water solutions and scientific research trends in water management across Africa.
This participation came in collaboration with the National Company, within a workshop titled:
“Fifty Years of the National Water Research Center’s Work to Empower the Future of Water in Africa with Sustainable Solutions.”
The session showcased key strategic projects, including:
Wau Dam in South Sudan to enhance water storage and availability.
Development of hydraulic laboratories to improve water efficiency and quality.
Initiative to protect riverbanks in Uganda, stabilize soil, and combat aquatic weeds.
Flood management project in Togo using early warning systems.
Model farm and solar-powered wells in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to support sustainable agriculture.
Mariel Bai Farm in South Sudan as an example of smart agricultural development.
Participants emphasized the NWRC’s vital role in supporting regional and international cooperation in the water sector and its contribution to high-quality projects in collaboration with the National Company. The focus was placed on knowledge transfer, capacity building, and enhancing water security across the continent.
