As part of the National Water Research Center’s (NWRC) commitment to strengthening scientific and research collaboration, Prof. Dr. Sherif Mohamady, President of the NWRC, held a meeting on Sunday, April 27, 2025, with the contact persons from research institutes involved in signed protocols with various universities and research centers.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Aiman El-Saadi, Vice President for Research Planning Affairs; Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hashad, Vice President for Research Staff Affairs; Prof. Dr. El-Sayed El-Bastamy from the President’s Technical Office; and Dr. Marwa Ali, Director of the Foreign-Funded Projects Office, along with several concerned stakeholders.
The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration with public universities such as the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams, Benha, and Assiut Universities; national universities including the Faculty of Engineering at Mansoura National University and Delta Technological University; as well as private institutions like the British University in Egypt, King Salman International University, and Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development.
Also addressed was cooperation with leading research centers such as the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics, the National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries, and the Egyptian Space Agency.
The meeting centered on reviewing progress in implementing the terms of the signed protocols, supporting NWRC’s vision for sustainable development and providing innovative solutions to water-related challenges. These efforts align with the second-generation framework of Egypt’s irrigation system (Irrigation 2.0).
In support of students, the summer training program for university students was also discussed. This program aims to develop students’ academic and practical skills by offering hands-on training opportunities in the NWRC’s various research fields.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the NWRC President highlighted the upcoming celebration of the NWRC’s Golden Jubilee 🥇, praising the significant achievements made over fifty years of dedicated work and scientific excellence. He emphasized that the celebration is an opportunity to strengthen ties with local and international partners and to open new avenues for collaboration in scientific research and sustainable water solutions.
