Description:
Manzala lake is one of the biggest northern lakes in area and amount of fish catching which reach percent to 30% of other caught regions, amount of disposal from sanitary, manufacturing, and agriculture drainage without treatment average to 7500 million m3 yearly, 8 agriculture drains directly to lake as a source of pollution and threatened production of fish. It was urgent to mitigate and reduce pollution sources to Manzala lake which had included heavy metals, toxic minerals, unpleasant odors, that may affect in life standard and economy in Egypt by following the legislation included in environmental low no.4 year 94. One of the main problems is drying parts of lake due to urban planning, high ways erections, and agriculture projects, which led to decrease lake area from 750000 to 190000 acre. It is important to make treatment of disposable drainage water to ease pollution before reaching the lake.
