NWRC Holds 199th Board Meeting: Discusses and Reviews Strategic, Administrative, Research Priorities and CWW 2025 Preparations

On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, the 199th Board of Directors meeting of the National Water Research Center (NWRC) was held,

chaired by Prof. Dr. Sherif Mohamady, President of NWRC, with the participation of the esteemed Board members.

Attendees included:

The Deputy Head of the State Council and Head of the Fatwa Department for the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation,

The Head of the Irrigation Authority,

The Vice President of NWRC for Research Planning Affairs,

The Vice President of NWRC for Research Staff Affairs,

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering – Cairo University,

Directors of the NWRC’s research institutes,

and representatives from:

The Ministry of Planning,

The Agricultural Research Center,

The Ministry of Finance,

Secretary General of the NWRC, Director of the President’s Technical Office.

Prof. Dr. Sherif Mohamady opened the meeting by extending warm congratulations to the attendees on the upcoming occasion of Eid Al-Adha, wishing them continued success and prosperity.

Following that, the Board began discussing several important topics, including:

Reviewing the Scientific Committee’s recommendations for research staff promotions

Discussing the appointment memo for new research staff members

Evaluating preparations for NWRC’s participation in the 8th Cairo Water Week 2025

Revising vehicle subscription policies

Approving the NWRC’s and its institutes’ enrollment in the Ministry’s Emergency Social and Medical Aid System

Addressing various financial, administrative, and legal matters related to the NWRC’s operations. In conclusion, Prof. Dr. Sherif Mohamady expressed his deep appreciation to all attendees for their continuous efforts, emphasizing the importance of team spirit in achieving the NWRC’s research and development goals.
