NWRC President Leads Post-Workshop Review Meeting as Part of Golden Jubilee Preparations

On Thursday, May 29, 2025, Prof. Dr. Sherif Mohamady, President of the National Water Research Center (NWRC), held a meeting with the officials responsible for organizing the workshop titled:

 “Sustainable Future for Egypt’s Coasts: Aligning Investment, Development, and Environmental Integrity”

which took place from May 27–28, 2025, in the city of Alexandria.

This meeting came as part of the ongoing preparations for the Golden Jubilee celebration of the NWRC, marking 50 years since its establishment and was attended by the NWRC’s leadership.

The meeting was attended in person by members of the organizing team from both the research and support teams, led by the two Vice Presidents of the NWRC, along with senior leadership. Other team members who couldn’t attend physically joined via Zoom.

During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Mohamady expressed his appreciation for the tremendous efforts put forth by the various working teams to ensure the success of the workshop. He praised the excellent organization and the positive outcomes achieved.

The discussions also addressed the challenges encountered during the preparation phase, aiming to learn from them and improve future events.

The meeting concluded with clear insights into the challenges faced and valuable lessons learned, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in successfully conducting a series of upcoming specialized technical workshops. These are scheduled to precede Cairo Water Week 2025, as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations. The goal is to highlight the NWRC’s scientific and research contributions and strengthen dialogue with partners and stakeholders concerned with water issues. At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Mohamady stressed the importance of leveraging the current positive momentum and continuing to work as a team to organize a celebration worthy of the NWRC’s long-standing legacy.
