Prof. Dr. Sherif Mohamady President of the NWRC participated in the meeting held by Prof. Dr. Hani Sewilam Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation to follow up on the activities of the improvement and protection of the Nile River sector and the sector’s efforts in removing violations in coordination with the concerned authorities.

H.E. Prof. Dr. Hani Sewilam, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, held a meeting to follow up on the status of the Nile River and its branches, efforts to remove encroachments, receive river basin lands, and produce modern survey maps for the entire course.
-Prof. Sewilam directed the development of a timetable for surveying and receiving river basin lands, with priority given to lands facing the Nile capitals and cities of the governorates to utilize them optimally.
– Preparing to launch a project to produce modern #digital maps of the Nile River to support the preparation of research studies and on-site monitoring of the river’s condition, and to provide better tools for Nile protection engineers in dealing with the river.
– The start of wave 26 to remove encroachments, and the end of wave 25, during which 265 encroachments were removed over an area of 55,000 square meters.
– Removal of 299 cases of encroachment outside wave 25, and 92 cases of encroachment outside wave 26, in coordination between the Nile Protection Authority and the relevant security authorities.
