NWRC President Signs Cooperation Protocol with Egyptian High Dam and Aswan Reservoir Authority to Enhance Technical Collaboration and Sustainability

As part of strengthening research and technical cooperation between the National Water Research Center and the authorities and sectors affiliated with the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, the NWRC organized a signing ceremony on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, for a joint cooperation protocol with the Egyptian High Dam and Aswan Reservoir Authority.

The protocol aims to provide technical consultations, periodic monitoring and evaluation, and the implementation of procedures and recommendations from technical studies related to maintaining the sustainability and efficiency of the High Dam system.

The protocol was signed by Prof. Dr. Sherif Mohamady – President of the National Water Research Center, and Dr. Mohamed Roshdy – Chairman of the Board of the Egyptian High Dam and Aswan Reservoir Authority.

The signing ceremony was attended by:

Prof. Dr. Aiman El-Saadi – Vice President for Research Plan Affairs

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hashad – Vice President for Research Staff Affairs

Prof. Dr. Ihab Khalil – Head of the High Dam System Department at the NWRC

Eng. Mohamed Orabi – Head of the Central Administration for Research and Toshka

Dr. Alaa Sakr – Secretary General of the NWRC

Dr. Islam Sabry – Director of the Technical Office of the NWRC’s President in addition to a number of representatives from the Egyptian High Dam and Aswan Reservoir Authority. Both parties affirmed their commitment to exerting the utmost efforts to implement the protocol’s provisions to ensure that the High Dam system’s facilities remain at the highest levels of readiness, efficiency, and safety.
