Description:
Since 85% of Egypt water resources is required for irrigation of agriculture lands, the overall objective of this project is to assess the impacts of climate change on the different components of the water sector (demand, groundwater and Nile waters) and agriculture sector (crop pattern and crop water requirements). That will be achieved through the following: - Assessing the impact of climate change on surface water, ground water and agriculture sectors in the Delta region. - Proposing adaptation strategies for agriculture sector by defining the most suitable crop pattern and crop water requirements based on different climatic change scenarios. - Linking between climate changes' variables such as precipitation, evapo-transpiration and temperature in addition to water required for agriculture in the Delta region
