NWRC President Participates in the meeting held by Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation to discuss the proposal for Establishing a “Food University”

Participation of Prof. Dr. Sherif Mohamedy, President of the National Water Research Center, in the meeting held by H.E. Prof. Dr. Hani Sewilam, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, to discuss the proposal for establishing a “Food University” through the Education Development Fund.

Ministry of Water Resources & Irrigation:

H.E. Prof. Dr. Hani Sewilam, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, welcomed Dr. Rasha Sharaf, Secretary General of the Education Development Fund, at the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, where the proposal to implement the project to establish a “Food University” was discussed through the Education Development Fund in coordination with the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Prof. Sewilam:

– The importance of conducting detailed studies to prepare for the launch of this university, and conducting an in-depth study of the needs of the labor market to determine the programs and activities that will be offered at the university.

– This university will be an important tool in providing specialized curricula to prepare the cadres that will fill the technical positions required by the Ministry of Irrigation in the future.

– Finding highly trained cadres to manage the water system in Egypt under the umbrella of the second generation of the irrigation system 2.0.

– Promoting scientific research and innovation to develop the water system, contribute to achieving food security, and support the national economy.

Dr. Rasha Sharaf:

– The Food University aims to train human cadres in the fields of smart agriculture, water management, animal production, food industries, and advanced mechanization to serve the food system.
